Last month I visited the US twice. One night a client took me out to dinner and during our philosophical discussions I mentioned my belief that one day Bill Gates will be President of the United States. They all laughed and said that this can never happen.
I'm telling you one thing. The day Bill Gates decides to run for President, I'll file an application for US citizenship. If he does well (as I sincerely hope) then I'll be happy to vote for him. If he goes ugly (very small chance) then I'd better be a US citizen (CYA mode).
P.S: "When I'm President" is a hilarious song from Extreme's Pornograffitti CD. However, when I become The Richest Man of All Times, then I'll run for President as well ;-)
If you are serious, what difference would Bill Gates make? I think the current political model is so messed up, that even if the best person came, having the best intentions they couldn't do a thing to change the scene. That is because that person would have to act within the current model.
I think the best one can do if they have the power and the money (like BG has), would be to create a new model that makes the current one obsolete.
