I just read one sweet little book called “Who Moved My Cheese?”. This book is about dealing with change. It’s small, about 100 pages, containing lots of illustrations. It’s well written, easy to read and grasp.
There are many memorable quotes in this book, but I liked two most:
- You can only change and improve if you can laugh at yourself.
- What would you do if you were not afraid?
Being able to see where you are wrong and laugh at yourself is necessary for change. If you take things too seriously, including yourself, then you become rigid and rigidness does not go with change.
“Fear is the mind-killer” starts the Litany Against Fear, in Frank Herbert’s Dune. Change brings the unknown, the unstable. People instinctively fear the unknown. If you let that fear rule you, you will not be able to cope with change.
