This is the introduction to the song Awakenings, found in "The Odyssey" album by the incredible Symphony X. I just liked the lyrics and have been long thinking of blogging them. Moreover they touch one bit on the underlying theme of The Dice Man. We are all slaves of the twin gods Cause & Effect. We fight ferociously to leave nothing to the hands of Lord Chance. And as soon as we achieve that... we feel bored. So we can start by singing in our heads "Surrender my coin at the old wishing well... Maybe the stars will align in the night...
