I recently watched the movie Click
on DVD. I liked the movie very much so I feel compelled to write a post about
it. The concept is simple but very well executed. The movie is affectionate and
moving. It really touched me. I guess that has to do with the fact that I am
thirty something with a family and two small kids like Adam Sandler in the
movie. I am not sure it would affect the younger audiences the same.
It’s hard not to make this a spoiler but I’ll do my best. If you had a remote control and
you could fast-forward your life, which parts would you skip? Which parts would
you go through without noticing, without caring, having engaged an autopilot
that will get you through the part?
The thing is we often live our lives on fast
forward; on autopilot. Of course noone likes to admit that. “I have to work
hard to get that damn promotion to improve the lot of my family”. Click.
Autopilot engaged. Three years later you get the promotion only to find that
your family is not exactly happy. And your kids have grown too. Where were you?
Have fun!
